With the blood pressure monitor, your loved one can take a blood pressure reading, which will be recorded automatically in the GrandCare system. The process operates completely wirelessly. Caregivers can log in to see the blood pressure readings, and to set up rules, for example to alert caregivers when a reading has been taken, or to remind the loved one if a reading hasn't been taken at the expected time.

There is one particular model of blood pressure monitor that can be integrated with a GrandCare system, the A&D Medical brand monitor. It comes with your choice of three cuff sizes, small, medium or large. The monitor is battery-operated, and communicates with the system wirelessly via Bluetooth. There are two parts to each rule, a condition and an action. On the first screen, choose the condition. Your rule can be triggered:
Troubleshooting
* Whenever a blood pressure reading is taken
* If a blood pressure reading isn't taken between a particular time range
If you are having trouble adding the blood pressure device to the system.
* If a blood pressure reading isn't taken all day

:* Make sure you have the Bluetooth Antenna set up correctly.
Once you have defined the condition, you need to set the action. Possible actions include contacting a single caregiver, all caregivers, or a Call List. The types of contact include:
:* Make sure you have entered the device Serial Number and Bluetooth ID correctly.
* Email
:* Make sure you have selected the correct device type and model.
* Text message
:* Make sure that this blood pressure monitor is not configured on any other systems in Bluetooth range.
* Phone call to home, work or cell phone
:* If using the UA-767PBT-Ci model, try doing the pairing steps again.
* Phone call to a Call List

Examples of rules might be:
* If a blood pressure reading is taken, email all caregivers, so they can view the reading
* If a blood pressure reading isn't taken before noon, text an adult child who can remind the parent
* If a blood pressure reading isn't taken at a set time, phone the loved one with a reminder - only caregivers can receive alerts from rules, but a loved one can easily be added as a caregiver for this purpose

Multiple rules can be triggered for any event, so that multiple types of alerts can be sent out, for example both phone calls and emails.

A checkbox next to the rule lets you set whether the rule is enabled or disabled. It might make sense to turn off a rule while your loved one is on vacation, so that alerts won't be sent out during that time. You can disable a rule by unchecking the box. When you're ready for the rule to be active again, just check the Enabled checkbox again, and then save the rule settings.

A&D UA-767PBT Blood Pressure Monitor
Taking a Blood Pressure Reading

A blood pressure monitor can be added to the system to record blood pressure readings.
The blood pressure monitor is battery-operated and Bluetooth-enabled to communicate wirelessly with the system.

Caregivers can log onto the Online Care Portal to view Health Reports and to set up custom Wellness Notifications and Acknowledgements.

Residents can view their own health readings by using the "Wellness" Button on the Touchscreen.

Taking a Blood Pressure Reading

Follow all manufacturer-provided directions for setting up and using the blood pressure monitor, including battery installation, taking accurate readings, and device care.

Once the reading has been taken, it will be sent to the system automatically, and a wellness reading acknowledgement will appear on the screen.

Supported Models

There may be more than one model that can be used with your system. Use the manufacturer’s directions that came with the device to identify the model you have.

Identifying the Device Model

Each blood pressure monitor displays its model number on the front face of the device.
 • A&D UA-767PBT
 • A&D UA-767PBT-Ci

Adding a Blood Pressure Device to the System

All Wellness Devices require a Bluetooth Antenna to communicate with the touchscreen. These devices must be added through the Setup Wizard on the touchscreen.

Through the Touchscreen Setup Wizard

The first time you turn on a new system, the Setup Wizard will start automatically and guide you through setting up your Wellness Devices.

This is the only way to add Bluetooth health devices.

If you are adding a device to an already configured system, see the Setup Wizard page for instructions on re-starting the Wizard.

Manually Pairing the A&D UA-767PBT-Ci Blood Pressure Monitor

 1. At the Touchscreen, touch the "Settings" Button.
 2. Enter the System PIN.
 3. Touch the "Devices" button.
 4. Touch the Blood Pressure Monitor in the Devices list - the Blood Pressure Monitor Details Screen will appear.

 6. Follow the directions on the screen: Press and hold the power button on the device until "uPr" appears, then release the power button.
 7. Press and release the power button again.
 8. The device will display "End" and turn off.
 9. Remove, then reinstall the batteries into the device.
 10. The device will now show "Pr" on the display.
 11. Touch the "OK" button on the touchscreen to start pairing.
 12. Wait while it pairs - you will see a Success Message when pairing is complete.
