Overview

In order to use the GrandCare system's social features or digital health features, your loved one needs to be set up on the system as a Loved One. If the system is shared by more than one person, for example if the system is placed in the home of a couple, or if the system is in a multi-resident facility, then use resident needs to be added as a Loved One. This may have been done for you already by your installer, or you may need to do it.

Adding a Loved One

Before people can start to use your loved one’s GrandCare system, to add photos or messages, to have video chats, or to see activity and receive alerts, they need to be set up. There are a few steps to the setup.

  • People need to be set up as users on GCManage, so that they can login.
  • They need to be set up as Caregivers in order to receive alerts and to use the letters, messages, and care coordination notes features.
  • They need to be set up as Known Callers in order to have video chats with your loved one, and to appear in the Known Callers list for the Caller ID feature.
