Overview

My.GrandCare is the name for the newest version of GCManage, which is in beta testing now. It is a substantial upgrade and redesign of GCManage, which can be run on a PC, tablet or mobile device. It includes much of the original functionality, e.g. managing user accounts, managing systems, accessing the Care Menu, but with some important organization improvements, and an updated look and feel.

User Roles

User roles in my.GrandCare are expanded from what was available in GCManage. In addition to having a greater number of levels, in my.GrandCare, any user can be assigned more than one role, depending on the relationship to a given account. The roles are:
Admin Level:

  • Administrator - has full access to all functions to all features on the server.
  • Distributor Admin - admin associated in my.GrandCare with a Distributor - can manage all Systems supplied by the assigned Distributor, and has full visibility of all Accounts assigned to the Distributor. Can also add new Groups, Users, and Accounts.
  • Group Admin - can manage all Systems and Accounts in their assigned Group. Can add, edit, and delete Accounts, Users, Caregivers, and Residents.
  • Account Admin - has full access to the Caregiver Menu for their assigned Account and for all Residents on that Account. Can also add and edit Residents and Caregivers on the Account. Equivalent to the "Primary Como User" in previous GCManage versions.
  • Resident Admin has full access the Caregiver Menu for their assigned Resident. They can
also add other Resident Caregivers and Communicators for that Resident.

Caregiver Level:

  • Group Caregiver - can view (but not edit) all Accounts in the Group. Has full access to the Caregiver Menu for all Accounts in the Group.
  • Account Caregiver - has full access to the Caregiver Menu for the Account and for all Residents on the Account.
  • Resident Caregiver - has full access to the Caregiver Menu for a Resident on a particular Account.

Communicator Level:

A Group Communicator can edit the community features of a group and can add messages,
pictures, emails, etc. for all Accounts in their assigned Group, but cannot access any
health data, ADL data, or care notes.
An Account Communicator can add messages, pictures, emails, etc. for their assigned
Account, but cannot access any health data, ADL data, or care notes.
A Resident Communicator can add messages, pictures, emails, etc. for their assigned
Resident, but cannot access any health data, ADL data, or care notes.

  • Administrator - This role is for GrandCare server admins
  • Distributor Admin - This role is for GrandCare distributors, who have administrative rights over their groups and accounts
  • Group Admin - This role is typically for GrandCare dealers. A group may consist of all of a dealer's accounts, or may be divided more finely. A dealer may have more than one group. For example, a group may consist of all the systems in a single facility. The same group administrator may have another group that consists of all the groups in a different facility. Each account in the group must belong to the same distributor, so if a dealer works with more than one distributor, that is another situation in which a dealer would be group admin to multiple groups, one for each distributor.
  • Group Caregiver - This role is for someone who is a caregiver for all the accounts within a group, for example a professional caregiver in a multi-resident facility
  • Group Communicator - This role is for someone who works on the community and communication features for all the accounts
  • Account Admin -
  • Account Caregiver -
  • Account Communicator -
  • Resident Admin -
  • Resident Caregiver -
  • Resident Communicator -
