Wellness Devices, such as a weight scale, pulse oximeter, glucometer, ear thermometer, and/or blood pressure monitor, can be added to the system to record Health information. These Wellness Devices are battery-operated and Bluetooth-enabled to communicate wirelessly with the system.
Caregivers can log onto the Online Care Portal to view Health Readings, and setup custom Wellness Notifications and Acknowledgements.
Wireless Bluetooth
All wellness devices communicate with the system via Bluetooth. Some systems that includes health devices must have a Bluetooth Antenna, others have Bluetooth built in..
Taking Wellness Readings
Follow all manufacturer-provided directions for setting up and using wellness devices, including battery installation, taking accurate readings, and care.
All wellness devices within Bluetooth range, except for the glucometer, will automatically upload readings to the system, and then display a reading acknowledgement on the touchscreen.
Specific Wellness Devices
There may be more than one model that can be used with your system. Use the manufacturer’s directions that came with the device to identify the model you have.
- Ear Thermometer
- Taking and Uploading a Temperature Reading
- The ear thermometer comes with manufacturer-provided directions for taking a safe and accurate reading.
- Once the reading has been taken, it will be sent to the system automatically.
- Blood Pressure Monitor
- Taking and Uploading a Blood Pressure Reading
- The blood pressure monitor comes with manufacturer-provided directions for taking a safe and accurate reading.
- Once the reading has been taken, it will be sent to the system automatically.
- Weight Scale
- Taking and Uploading a Weight Reading
- The weight scale comes with manufacturer-provided directions for taking a safe and accurate reading.
- Once the reading has been taken, it will be sent to the system automatically.
- Pulse Oximeter
- Taking and Uploading an O2 saturation Reading
- The pulse oximeter comes with manufacturer-provided directions for taking a safe and accurate reading.
- Once the reading has been taken, it will be sent to the system automatically.
- Glucometer
- Taking and Uploading a Glucometer Reading
- The glucometer comes with manufacturer-provided directions for taking a safe and accurate reading.
- When the blood glucose reading appears on the meter's display screen, press the Down Arrow button once to send the reading to the system.
- When the blood glucose reading appears on the meter's display screen, press the Down Arrow button once to send the reading to the system.
- Uploading Multiple Glucometer Readings
- If your loved one has been away from home, for example on vacation, and has taken numerous glucometer readings while away, you can upload all the readings at once by following these steps:
- Make sure the glucometer is off (in a powered down state)
- While the glucometer is off, press the Down Arrow button once, to upload all the readings currently stored on the glucometer
